Celine

The house of Celine was founded in 1945 by Céline and Richard Vipiana. It began as a children’s shoe shop before Céline Vipiana introduced luxe sportswear into the mix, which Michael Kors continued to develop in the nineties and early aughts. Under Phoebe Philo, however, Celine became the preferred source of contemporary minimalism in women’s fashion. From Trapeze bags, Luggage totes and geometric jewelry to glove shoes, slip dresses and oversized sunglasses, Philo’s oeuvre of It items was unparalleled. Now with Hedi Slimane transforming the brand, everyone wants a piece of Celine, whether it’s vintage Macadam pieces, Philo-era favorites or Slimane’s new Triomphe bags.
