From Jan Taminiau’s Postbag collection. In 2009 Queen Máxima opened the Arnhem Fashion Biënnale in a total look of Jan Jan's Postbag collection. The postbag represents a strong symbolic and romantic value for the designer. “A postbag has history, it is been used from tax letters to love letters and that’s why I love it, it has a story to tell.” To honor the new King and Queen he designed a jacket for men with the Dutch flag and a women’s jacket with the Argentinian flag. They’re both limited editions

Jan Taminiau

Jan Taminiau has become one of the best known fashion designers in the Benelux. “As a designer my goal is to make the ultimate dress, every single time, over and over again.”

Jan Taminiau is constantly looking for new ways to expand his romantic world. Often, his new ways lead him back into history to explore rich traditions, half forgotten crafts and original fabrics.

Taminiau is known for his love for traditional production techniques, antique materials, the search for the right shape and the penchant for aesthetics. His work has a refined, conceptual undertone yet never loses sight of the elegant, feminine and wearable form.
