Miuccia Prada (1949) is geboren in Milaan en is de kleindochter van Mario Prada, die het modehuis in 1913 startte. Het label is erg variërend: van minimalistische kledingstukken tot items met drukke prints. Wel is het label altijd elegant, met een stoere twist. Denk hierbij aan rokken tot op de knie, strakke lijnen, licht glanzende stoffen en veel zwart. In 1985 lanceert Prada als één van de eerste een it-bag; de zwarte Nylon Bag. Dit werd gelijk door veel modehuizen gekopieerd en door het grote publiek opgepakt.
